Genuineness of faith

How do we know if our faith is genuine? Do we faith in God, just because He solves all our problems, or do you go to God for secretly (ie before men) glorifying the self? What could it be, it is like that. Most of are like that. But that does not stop, He is the one that makes our faith genuine. There is no point cribbing that, "I don't truly love the Lord." For God in His holy scripture or rather from His heart said (and remember when He utters something *it is done*) he will refine us. Like gold and silver. It is understood by God that when a man receives Christ his heart though being redeemed and cleansed by the blood of God. His mind is not willing, or rather his flesh is not willing to accept the above truth. So the flesh will try to bring fleshly attitudes into our faith. But this is what the scriptures say:
1 Peter 1:6-9
6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
The trial of faith, the purification and making of the genuineness of faith is a tough thing. But Lord, I want to be genuine in our grace. So be it unto to me according to your word. Make me genuine, what ever it may cost. I just ask for Thy hand to hold, hold me firm. like that very young child how hands his father holds. When there is a pothole or a puddle, the father first jumps across and then child swings on his fathers hand across that puddle or pothole or the father while he jumps; the child is made to swing on his fathers hand, knowing that his father wont leave him. I need your hand to hold me Lord when You take me through those fires. I need your grace, protection and guidance. Bless the Lord for He is a good Father, and will uphold me in His hands.

1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Glory be to God alone.
